Undertakings required to report the placing on the market of 1 000 tonnes CO2 equivalent or more of hydrofluorocarbons in the previous year have the accuracy of their report verified with reasonable assurance by an independent auditor by 30 April and annually thereafter. The auditor must be registered in the F-gas Portal and either accredited under Directive 2003/87/EC or authorised under national law to audit financial statements. Transactions under Article 16(2)(c) are verified regardless of the quantities involved. The Commission may also require verification irrespective of the quantities.

Unternehmen, die über das Inverkehrbringen von 1 000 Tonnen CO₂-Äquivalent oder mehr teilfluorierter Kohlenwasserstoffe im Vorjahr berichten müssen, lassen bis zum 30. April und danach jedes Jahr die Richtigkeit ihres Berichts mit einem angemessenen Maß an Sicherheit von einem unabhängigen Prüfer bestätigen. Der Prüfer muss im F-Gas-Portal registriert und entweder nach der Richtlinie 2003/87/EG akkreditiert oder nach nationalem Recht für die Prüfung von Finanzberichten zugelassen sein. Transaktionen nach Artikel 16 Absatz 2 Buchstabe c werden unabhängig von der Menge geprüft. Die Kommission kann eine Prüfung auch unabhängig von den Mengen verlangen.
