Description (English)
Devices reducing energy demand in heating, cooling and ventilation systems and in hot water supply systems must be kept operational by the operator and used as intended. The systems must be operated properly. Components with a significant influence on efficiency must be maintained and serviced regularly; this requires expertise, that is the necessary specialist knowledge and skills. The Crafts Code remains unaffected. Compliance option: the operator may also meet the operational-readiness duty by taking other technical or structural measures that offset the effect of the energy-saving device on the annual primary energy demand. Section 57 additionally prohibits alterations to buildings and systems that worsen their energy quality. Further references: Sections 57 to 60.
