Description (English)
From 1 January 2027 the triggering facts remain unchanged: a water-based heating system installed after 30 September 2009 that is not a heat pump and is operated in a building with at least six dwellings or other self-contained units must undergo a heating check and heating optimisation within one year after 15 years have elapsed since installation. Where the system was installed before 1 October 2009, it must be checked and optimised by the end of 30 September 2027. What changed is the content of the check: the former catalogue of four items is dropped. The check now establishes whether the heating system is operated efficiently with regard to its essential settings, components and operating parameters. Optimisation continues to include adjustments to control, temperature and operating management and further operational settings, and advice on additional saving measures, in each case taking account of possible effects on the building fabric and on human health. Identified optimisation measures must be carried out. Further references: Section 60b(1) to (5) as in force from 1 January 2027, Section 108(1), points 10 and 11.
