The entity submits an incident notification to the CSIRT or, where applicable, to the competent authority without undue delay and in any event within 72 hours of becoming aware of the significant incident. The notification updates the information given in the early warning where applicable and provides an initial assessment of the incident, including its severity and impact as well as, where available, the indicators of compromise. By way of derogation, trust service providers have 24 hours for significant incidents affecting the provision of their trust services (Article 23(4), second subparagraph). The entity also submits all information enabling the recipient to determine whether the incident has a cross-border impact (Article 23(1)).

Die Einrichtung übermittelt dem CSIRT oder gegebenenfalls der zuständigen Behörde unverzüglich, in jedem Fall aber innerhalb von 72 Stunden nach Kenntnisnahme des erheblichen Sicherheitsvorfalls eine Meldung über den Sicherheitsvorfall. Die Meldung aktualisiert gegebenenfalls die Angaben der Frühwarnung und enthält eine erste Bewertung des Vorfalls einschließlich seines Schweregrads und seiner Auswirkungen sowie gegebenenfalls die Kompromittierungsindikatoren. Für Vertrauensdiensteanbieter gilt abweichend eine Frist von 24 Stunden für erhebliche Sicherheitsvorfälle, die sich auf die Erbringung ihrer Vertrauensdienste auswirken (Artikel 23 Absatz 4 Unterabsatz 2). Die Einrichtung übermittelt zudem alle Informationen, die es dem Empfänger ermöglichen zu ermitteln, ob der Vorfall grenzübergreifende Auswirkungen hat (Artikel 23 Absatz 1).
