The company ensures that its packaging bears a type, batch or serial number or another identification mark; where this is not possible because of the size or nature of the packaging, the information is given in the accompanying documents (Article 15(5)). The packaging, a QR code or another data carrier must also state the name, registered trade name or registered trade mark, the postal address and, where applicable, electronic means of communication (Article 15(6)). The same duty applies to importers under Article 18(3). The information must be clear, understandable and legible and must not replace or obscure the product labelling required by other Union acts (Article 15(7), Article 18(4)).

Das Unternehmen gewährleistet, dass seine Verpackungen eine Typen-, Chargen- oder Seriennummer oder ein anderes Kennzeichen zur Identifikation tragen; ist das wegen Größe oder Art der Verpackung nicht möglich, stehen die Angaben in den Begleitunterlagen (Artikel 15 Absatz 5). Auf der Verpackung, über einen QR-Code oder einen anderen Datenträger sind ferner Name, eingetragener Handelsname oder eingetragene Handelsmarke sowie Postanschrift und gegebenenfalls elektronische Kommunikationsmittel anzugeben (Artikel 15 Absatz 6). Für Importeure gilt dieselbe Pflicht nach Artikel 18 Absatz 3. Die Angaben müssen klar, verständlich und lesbar sein und dürfen die nach anderen Unionsrechtsakten vorgeschriebene Produktkennzeichnung weder ersetzen noch verdecken (Artikel 15 Absatz 7, Artikel 18 Absatz 4).
