The company keeps the technical documentation and the EU declaration of conformity: five years from placing on the market for single-use packaging, ten years for reusable packaging (Article 15(3); for importers Article 18(7), for authorised representatives Article 17(2), point (a)). For the same periods it keeps records of which economic operators it obtained packaging or packaged products from and to which it supplied them, and makes them available to the market surveillance authorities on request (Article 22). Upon a reasoned request from a national authority, the company hands over all information and documents needed to demonstrate conformity in a language easily understood by that authority, electronically and on request on paper, within ten days of receipt of the request (Article 15(10), Article 18(8), Article 19(6)).

Das Unternehmen bewahrt die technische Dokumentation und die EU-Konformitätserklärung auf: fünf Jahre ab dem Inverkehrbringen bei Einwegverpackungen, zehn Jahre bei wiederverwendbaren Verpackungen (Artikel 15 Absatz 3; für Importeure Artikel 18 Absatz 7, für Bevollmächtigte Artikel 17 Absatz 2 Buchstabe a). Ebenso lange hält es die Angaben darüber vor, von welchen Wirtschaftsakteuren es Verpackungen oder verpackte Produkte bezogen und an welche es sie geliefert hat, und stellt sie den Marktüberwachungsbehörden auf Verlangen zur Verfügung (Artikel 22). Auf begründetes Verlangen einer nationalen Behörde händigt das Unternehmen alle Informationen und Unterlagen zum Nachweis der Konformität in einer von der Behörde leicht verstandenen Sprache aus, elektronisch und auf Verlangen auf Papier, und zwar innerhalb von zehn Tagen nach Eingang der Anforderung (Artikel 15 Absatz 10, Artikel 18 Absatz 8, Artikel 19 Absatz 6).
