The owner must keep the contractor declaration for at least five years and must submit it to the authority competent under Land law on request. Where the fitting-out duties are discharged jointly with neighbouring buildings, the agreement under section 12(1), or in the case of a single owner the written documentation under section 12(5), must likewise be submitted to the competent authority on request.

Der Eigentümer hat die Unternehmererklärung mindestens fünf Jahre aufzubewahren und sie der nach Landesrecht zuständigen Behörde auf Verlangen vorzulegen. Werden die Ausstattungspflichten gemeinsam mit benachbarten Gebäuden erfüllt, ist auch die Vereinbarung nach § 12 Absatz 1 oder, bei nur einem Eigentümer, die schriftliche Dokumentation nach § 12 Absatz 5 der zuständigen Behörde auf Verlangen vorzulegen.
