Every product carries a type, batch or serial number or another identifying mark, or the information appears on the packaging or accompanying documents, together with the manufacturer's name, postal address and electronic contact details.

Jedes Produkt mit digitalen Elementen trägt eine Typen-, Chargen- oder Seriennummer oder ein anderes Kennzeichen zu seiner Identifikation; ist das nicht möglich, stehen diese Angaben auf der Verpackung oder in den beigefügten Unterlagen. Dazu kommen Name, eingetragener Handelsname oder eingetragene Handelsmarke des Herstellers, die Postanschrift, die E-Mail-Adresse oder andere digitale Kontaktangaben und, soweit vorhanden, die Website — entweder auf dem Produkt selbst oder, wenn das nicht möglich ist, auf der Verpackung oder in den beigefügten Unterlagen. Dieselben Angaben gehören in die Nutzerinformationen nach Anhang II. Die Kontaktangaben müssen in einer Sprache abgefasst sein, die Nutzer und Marktüberwachungsbehörden leicht verstehen.
