On request by operators of heat networks, district heating suppliers or other potential heat offtakers, the company provides information on the direct waste heat arising in the company: the name of the company, the address of the sites where the waste heat arises, the annual heat quantity and maximum thermal output, the time availability as a load profile over the year, the available options for controlling temperature, pressure and feed-in, and the average temperature level in degrees Celsius. Companies with an average annual total final energy consumption of 2.5 gigawatt hours or less are exempt (Section 17(4)).

Auf Anfrage von Betreibern von Wärmenetzen, Fernwärmeversorgungsunternehmen oder sonstigen potenziell wärmeabnehmenden Unternehmen erteilt das Unternehmen Auskunft über die im Unternehmen anfallende unmittelbare Abwärme: Name des Unternehmens, Adresse der Standorte, an denen die Abwärme anfällt, jährliche Wärmemenge und maximale thermische Leistung, zeitliche Verfügbarkeit als Leistungsprofil im Jahresverlauf, vorhandene Möglichkeiten zur Regelung von Temperatur, Druck und Einspeisung sowie das durchschnittliche Temperaturniveau in Grad Celsius. Unternehmen mit einem jährlichen durchschnittlichen Gesamtendenergieverbrauch von 2,5 Gigawattstunden oder weniger sind ausgenommen (§ 17 Absatz 4).
