The supplier is responsible for the accuracy of the labels and product information sheets it provides and draws up technical documentation sufficient to verify that accuracy (Article 3(3)). Until the data are in the product database, an electronic version of the technical documentation must be made available to market surveillance authorities or the Commission within ten days of a request (Article 4). For models placed on the market before 1 August 2017 under Directive 2010/30/EU the same duty to produce the documentation applies for five years after the last unit was manufactured (Article 20(3)).

Bis die Daten in der Produktdatenbank stehen, ist eine elektronische Fassung der technischen Unterlagen den Marktüberwachungsbehörden oder der Kommission binnen zehn Tagen nach Aufforderung vorzulegen (Artikel 4). Für Modelle, die vor dem 1. August 2017 nach der Richtlinie 2010/30/EU in Verkehr gebracht wurden, gilt dieselbe Vorlagepflicht fünf Jahre nach Fertigung der letzten Einheit (Artikel 20 Absatz 3).
