Where a label is rescaled, the supplier provides the dealer, during the four months before the starting date laid down in the relevant delegated act and when placing a product on the market, with both the existing and the rescaled label and with the product information sheets (Article 11(13)(a)). For products placed on the market before that four-month period, it supplies the rescaled label from the start of the period upon the dealer's request (point (b)). Exceptions: where the existing and the rescaled label require different testing of the model, the supplier may choose not to supply the existing label, provided no units of the same or an equivalent model were placed on the market before the four-month period; the dealer must then not offer such units for sale before the date, and the supplier informs it as soon as possible. Delegated acts may lay down specific rules for labels printed on the packaging under Article 16(3)(e).

Ausnahmen: Erfordern altes und neues Etikett unterschiedliche Prüfungen des Modells, kann der Lieferant auf das bestehende Etikett verzichten, sofern vor dem Viermonatszeitraum keine Einheiten desselben oder eines gleichwertigen Modells in Verkehr gebracht wurden; der Händler darf solche Einheiten dann nicht vor dem Stichtag zum Verkauf anbieten, und der Lieferant teilt ihm das so bald wie möglich mit. In delegierten Rechtsakten können nach Artikel 16 Absatz 3 Buchstabe e besondere Vorschriften für auf die Verpackung gedruckte Etiketten vorgesehen werden.
