Suppliers and dealers cooperate with market surveillance authorities and take immediate action, on their own initiative or when required to do so, to remedy any case of non-compliance with this Regulation and the delegated acts which falls under their responsibility (Article 6(b)). Where an authority assesses a product as presenting a risk, the supplier and the dealer cooperate with that assessment as necessary (Article 9(1)). If adequate corrective action is not taken within the period set, the authority may prohibit or restrict the availability of the product, withdraw it from the market or recall it (Article 9(5)). For a retail chain this means a reliable escalation path from store to head office and a delisting and recall routine that works within the authority's deadline.

Lieferanten und Händler arbeiten mit den Marktüberwachungsbehörden zusammen und ergreifen auf eigene Initiative oder auf Aufforderung sofort Maßnahmen, um einen in ihre Zuständigkeit fallenden Verstoß gegen diese Verordnung und die delegierten Rechtsakte zu beheben (Artikel 6 Buchstabe b). Beurteilt eine Behörde ein Produkt als mit einem Risiko verbunden, arbeiten Lieferant und Händler im erforderlichen Umfang an dieser Beurteilung mit (Artikel 9 Absatz 1). Bleiben angemessene Abhilfemaßnahmen innerhalb der gesetzten Frist aus, kann die Behörde die Verfügbarkeit des Produkts untersagen oder einschränken, es vom Markt nehmen oder zurückrufen (Artikel 9 Absatz 5). Für eine Handelskette heißt das: ein belastbarer Meldeweg von der Filiale in die Zentrale und eine Auslistungs- und Rückrufroutine, die innerhalb der Behördenfrist greift.
