Where the label of a product group is rescaled, the dealer replaces the existing labels within 14 working days of the date laid down as the starting point in the relevant delegated act — in store as well as for products displayed online. Before that date it must not display labels with the new scale (Article 11(13)(c)). Two transitional rules allow sell-through with the old label, in each case for up to nine months after the date — where the dealer could not obtain a rescaled label for units in stock because the supplier ceased its activity (point (b)(i)), and where the supplier is exempt from providing one because the old and the rescaled label require different testing of the model and no units of the same or an equivalent model are placed on the market after the start of the four-month period (point (b)(ii)). For labels printed on the packaging, delegated acts may lay down different rules under Article 16(3)(e). The obligation stands alongside the continuous duty to display, because it is tied to a fixed date and a deadline of its own.

Zwei Übergangsregeln lassen den Abverkauf mit dem alten Etikett zu, jeweils bis zu neun Monate nach dem Stichtag — wenn der Händler für Einheiten im Lagerbestand kein neu skaliertes Etikett erhalten konnte, weil der Lieferant seine Tätigkeit eingestellt hat (Buchstabe b Ziffer i), und wenn der Lieferant von der Bereitstellung befreit ist, weil altes und neues Etikett unterschiedliche Prüfungen des Modells erfordern und nach Beginn des Viermonatszeitraums keine Einheiten desselben oder eines gleichwertigen Modells mehr in Verkehr gebracht werden (Buchstabe b Ziffer ii). Für auf die Verpackung gedruckte Etiketten können delegierte Rechtsakte nach Artikel 16 Absatz 3 Buchstabe e Abweichendes vorsehen. Die Pflicht steht neben dem laufenden sichtbaren Ausstellen, weil sie an einen Stichtag und eine eigene Frist gebunden ist.
