The Ordinance entered into force on 6 November 1997. The official record of the text runs from that day.
For mains-operated electric washer-dryers under Annex 1 the labelling duty began on 1 January 1998. Annex 1 is based on Directive 96/60/EC, which was repealed by Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2014; the annex is therefore obsolete in substance but remains unchanged in the text of the Ordinance.
Earliest start of the labelling duty under Annex 2. For each product group the start depends on the relevant delegated regulation and is not dated in the text of the Ordinance itself. On 30 November 2011 the labelling duty applied for the first time to one of the product groups listed in Annex 2 Section 1 paragraph 1 (household refrigerating appliances under Delegated Regulation (EU) No 1060/2010 and televisions under Delegated Regulation (EU) No 1062/2010). Later dates apply to the other product groups, for example 1 March 2021 for refrigerating appliances under Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2016 and 1 September 2021 for light sources under Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2015. The milestone is a reference and not a deadline for an individual product; what governs is always the delegated regulation for the product group concerned.
